A life in pubs

These posts together constitute a memoir of my life. At times I doubted the value of doing this. Did I have anything worthwhile to say? Really, was it interesting? But I ploughed on, in the hope that my children, my grandchildren and maybe even later generations, might find in these portraits of a family life in the second half of the 20th century, some closer connections to these earlier generations. And, to be honest, I hope that my words remain a point of connection in memory and love to me.
